Cypriots will install more than 100 million solar panels, mostly on rooftops, as part of a bid to combat climate change, officials said on Tuesday.
More than 10 million households in Cyprus already have solar panels on their roofs, and authorities said they were in the process of adding more.
In addition, about 100 million households will also have an array of other renewable energy projects, including wind farms, hydropower and geothermal.
Cyprus has about 6,500 solar farms, according to state media.
It plans to install about 10 million panels by 2020, up from 5 million currently, according the National Solar Energy Association, or NSAA.
